This topic describes the pricing of different cluster editions and node specifications in ApsaraDB for ClickHouse and the billable items.

Billable items

The following table describes the details of the billable items in ApsaraDB for ClickHouse.
Billable item Resource description and billing accuracy
Compute node You are charged for the resources that are allocated to the compute nodes in your cluster. The total fee is rounded to two decimal places.
Storage space You are charged for the storage used by each compute node. The total fee is rounded to two decimal places.
Storage for backups After backup is enabled for an instance, you are billed based on the actual storage that is used to back up data based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. ApsaraDB for ClickHouse provides free backup storage of the same size as the storage that you purchase for the instance.
Storage of cold data If you implement tiered storage for hot data and cold data, you are charged for the total storage of your cold data. The total fee is rounded to two decimal places.
ZooKeeper node ZooKeeper nodes are used for resource management and coordination in a cluster and are free of charge.

Specifications and pricing of compute nodes

ApsaraDB for ClickHouse provides two cluster editions: High-availability Edition and Single-replica Edition.

  • High-availability Edition: Each node in an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster of the High-availability Edition has two replicas. Both replicas occupy storage space. Clusters of this edition provide high reliability. When you purchase a cluster of the High-availability Edition on the buy page of ApsaraDB for ClickHouse, each node that you purchase represents a node group that consists of two nodes.
  • Single-replica Edition: In an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster of the Single-replica Edition, each node has only one replica. When you purchase a cluster of the Single-replica Edition on the buy page of ApsaraDB for ClickHouse, each node that you purchase represents only one node. Clusters of this edition are more cost-effective.

The price of a compute node varies based on the specifications and region. The following table lists the pricing information of compute nodes.

Note A cluster of the High-availability Edition costs twice as much as a cluster of the Single-replica Edition with the same node specifications. For example, each node in a cluster of the High-availability Edition whose node specifications are 4 CPU cores and 16 GB memory contains two replicas with those specifications. However, each node in a cluster of the Single-replica Edition with the same node specifications contains only one replica with 4 CPU cores and 16 GB memory.

Note Each node in a cluster of the High-availability Edition contains two replicas. Each node in a cluster of the High-availability Edition occupies twice as much storage as that of a node in a cluster of the Single-replica Edition. Therefore, the storage price for a node in a cluster of the High-availability Edition is twice as much as that for a node in a cluster of the Single-replica Edition. The following example is used to describe the pricing of an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster. In this example, assume that you purchase a two-node cluster of the High-availability Edition and the billing method is subscription. The node specifications are 4 CPU cores and 16 GB memory. The storage type is ESSD. The monthly storage cost of the cluster is calculated based on the following formula: USD 0.221 per GB per month × 2 replicas × 2 nodes = USD 0.884 per GB per month.

Pricing of cold data storage

You are billed for using cold data storage and data backup storage based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. The following table lists the unit price of data storage in each region.

Pricing of ZooKeeper nodes

Each cluster contains three ZooKeeper nodes. ZooKeeper nodes are free of charge.

Basic specifications By default, each cluster is allocated three ZooKeeper nodes with basic specifications when the cluster is created. These ZooKeeper nodes are free of charge.
Custom specifications If the basic specifications of the ZooKeeper nodes do not meet your business requirements, you can submit a ticket to scale up the ZooKeeper nodes.
