Global Accelerator:Monitoring and alerting

Last Updated:Jan 15, 2024

Global Accelerator (GA) is integrated with CloudMonitor to help you collect a variety of monitoring metrics and generate time series graphs. You can troubleshoot issues based on the collected metrics.

View the monitoring information of an instance

  1. Log on to the GA console.

  2. To view the bandwidth and connectivity metrics of a basic GA instance, click Basic Instance in the left-side navigation pane.

By default, the system displays standard GA instances.

  3. On the Instances page, find the GA instance whose monitoring information you want to view. You can view monitoring information on the following pages:

    • On the Instances page

      1. Click the 监控 icon in the Monitor column.

      2. In the Instance Monitoring panel, view the monitoring information.

    • On the instance details page

      1. Click the ID of the instance.

      2. On the instance details page, click the Instance Monitoring tab.

You can perform the following steps to filter monitoring data by region and time period or create threshold-triggered alert rules. For more information about the monitoring metrics supported by GA, see the "Supported monitoring metrics" section in this topic.

    • Click Region and select a region from the drop-down list. Only standard GA instances support the filtering of monitoring data by region.

    • Click Time and select a time period from the drop-down list.

By default, the system displays monitoring data collected within the previous hour. You can select other time ranges from the Time drop-down list. Supported time ranges are 3 hours, 6 hours, and 12 hours. You can also specify a custom time range.

    • Click Threshold Alerting Settings. On the Alert Rules page of the CloudMonitor service, click Create Alert Rule to create an alert rule for GA. This feature is supported only by standard GA instances. For more information, see the "Create a threshold-triggered alert rule" section in this topic.

    • If you turn on Auto Refresh, the monitoring chart is automatically refreshed every minute.

Create an alert rule

You can create alert rules to monitor the usage and status of GA instances in real time. This ensures the stability of your workloads.

Note

If you delete a GA instance, the alert rules for the GA instance are also deleted from CloudMonitor.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Alerts > Alert Rules.

  3. On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule.

  4. In the Create Alert Rule panel, set the following parameters to create an alert rule and click Confirm.

The following table describes the parameters that are related to this topic. For information about other parameters, see Create an alert rule.

    Parameter

    Example

    Product

In this example, Global Accelerator is selected.

    Resource Scope

Select the range of resources to which the alert rule applies.

    • All Resources: The alert rule applies to all GA instances within the current Alibaba Cloud account.

    • Application Groups: The alert rule applies to all resources in the specified application group within the current Alibaba Cloud account. Select this option if you have created an application group that contains the GA instances that you want to monitor.

    • Instances: The alert rule applies only to the specified GA instance within the current Alibaba Cloud account.

If you select Application Groups or Instances, you must select the application group or GA instance that you want to monitor from the Associated Resources drop-down list.

    Rule Description

The description of the alert rule. If a metric meets a specific condition, an alert is triggered. To specify a condition, perform the following steps:

    1. Click Add Rule.

    2. In the Add Rule Description panel, specify the rule name, metric type, metric, and threshold and alert level.

For more information about the monitoring metrics supported by GA, see the "Supported monitoring metrics" section of the Monitoring and alerting topic.

    3. Click OK.
