ApsaraDB for ClickHouse:Apply for and release a public endpoint

Last Updated:May 24, 2023

ApsaraDB for ClickHouse supports internal endpoints for connections over virtual private clouds (VPCs) and public endpoints for connections over the Internet. If your client and an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster are deployed in the same VPC, you can use the corresponding internal endpoint to connect to the client and the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster. After the connection is successful, you can access the client and the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster over the VPC. Otherwise, you need to apply for a public endpoint. This topic describes how to apply for a public endpoint for an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster and release the public endpoint of an ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster in the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse console.

Precautions

An application for a public endpoint depends on Classic Load Balancer (CLB), and you are charged for the resources that you use. Make sure that the balance is sufficient in your account. For more information, see Billing details about relevant services.

Apply for a public endpoint

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the cluster for which you want to apply for a public endpoint is deployed.

  3. On the Clusters page, click the Default Instances tab, find the cluster, and then click the ID of the cluster.

  4. On the Cluster Information page, click Apply for Public Endpoint in the Network Information section.

  5. In the Apply for Public Endpoint message, click OK.

    Note

If you want to use the generated public endpoint to access the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster, you must add the IP address or CIDR block of the client to the whitelist of the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster. For more information, see Configure the whitelist.

Release a public endpoint

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the cluster for which you want to release a public endpoint is deployed.

  3. On the Clusters page, click the Default Instances tab, find the cluster, and then click the ID of the cluster.

  4. On the Cluster Information page, click Release Public Endpoint in the Network Information section.

  5. In the Release Public Endpoint message, click OK.

    Note

After you release the public endpoint, you cannot use the public endpoint to access the ApsaraDB for ClickHouse cluster.
