You can use the Data Lake Analytics (DLA) console, code, or a client to connect to DLA during application development. This topic provides a brief overview about how to connect to DLA.

Connection description

Before you connect to DLA in the DLA console, you must obtain the following connection information:

  • Endpoint and port number

You can log on to the DLA console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Serverless Presto > SQL access point. On the SQL access point page, view the endpoint and port number.

To connect to DLA over the Internet, you must use Public network address in the Public network section as the endpoint. To connect to DLA over a virtual private cloud (VPC), you must use VPC Access Links as the endpoint, as shown in the following figure. SQL access point page
Note When you connect to DLA over a specified VPC, the endpoint of the VPC provides a single tunnel from the VPC to DLA. To connect to DLA from the endpoints of different VPCs, you must configure connection strings of the endpoints for each VPC. For more information, see Create an endpoint.
  • Database accounts and permissions

You can use an Alibaba Cloud account (root account) or a RAM user of a database to connect to DLA. For more information, see Manage DLA accounts.
