    Chat App Message Service:Best practices for Marketing Messages Lite (MML)

    WhatsApp Marketing Messages Lite (MML) is an optimized marketing message category launched on April 1, 2025. MML automatically optimizes delivery and engagement to improve message quality and business outcomes.

    Key features of MML messages

    • Event tracking: Track when marketing messages drive users to perform in-app actions such as purchases or searches.

    • Improved delivery rate: MML messages achieve delivery rates equal to or better than standard marketing messages.

    Register for MML

    Before sending MML messages, register for MML by completing these steps:

    1. Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Channel Management. Click the target channel to open the channel details page.

    3. On the channel details page, in the left-side navigation pane, click WABA Management.

    4. In the Actions column, click MML Authorization.

    5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the pop-up to complete authorization.

    Important

    • After registration, you can send MML messages to all supported countries and regions.

    • Starting April 1, 2025, MML registration automatically authorizes all WhatsApp Business Accounts (WABAs) under your Meta Business Manager to send MML messages.

    Availability and requirements

    • Before April 1, 2025, MML is available only in Brazil, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Chile, Peru, Singapore, and Hong Kong (China). Starting April 1, 2025, MML is supported in all countries and regions where WhatsApp Business messages are available.

    Note

    Before April 1, 2025, your business must be registered in one of the listed countries or regions to register for MML. You can send MML messages only to users in these locations. Messages sent to other regions are automatically converted to standard marketing messages.

    • Starting May 1, 2025, MML registration is required to create new marketing templates in Chat App Message Service.

    • Starting July 1, 2025, MML registration is required to send marketing messages through Chat App Message Service.

    • No additional steps are required. Send MML messages by calling the existing message sending APIs.
