Changes

To provide better services and improve product experience and stability, starting July 21, 2025, Alibaba Cloud Key Management Service (KMS) will automatically upgrade KMS 3.0 instances with image version 2.3.0 and earlier to the latest version、Session recovery for Hardware KMS 3.0 instance.

Benefits

After upgrade, you will be able to:

Migrate resources from KMS 1.0 (KMS shared edition) to KMS 3.0 instances.

Access KMS 3.0 instances over the Internet.

Improve secrets retrieval performance by caching encrypted secrets in the Redis database.

Enhance KMS security through hardening measures.

Session recovery for Hardware KMS 3.0 instance

Impact

The upgrade takes about 30 minutes. During this period, your service may experience transient connections. The service will automatically resume once the upgrade is complete.
