Lens Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese listed company specializing in the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of touch-panel technology, including cover-glass, touch-sensor modules, and touch-panel covers. Lens Technology’s products are widely used in devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, digital cameras, car navigation systems, intelligent wearables and home furnishings. Established in 2006 and headquartered in Liuyang, China, the company also focuses on cross-border trade and B2C trade with China’s Top 100 Enterprises.

At Lens Technology we made a decision to migrate to the cloud based on our needs at that time, and to resolve issues we were facing with our previous setup. Those needs included requiring an effective content distribution mechanism that could accelerate download speeds and reduce the server load and delays. We were also looking for a powerful storage and back-up system, in addition to tight data security. As part of our business we need to focus on overseas customers too, including those with devices or hardware with variable default configurations, which may not be optimal for viewing and buying goods on our platform. A requirement was thus added to find a stable cross-border network and an alternative interface to handle user queries, file uploads/downloads, image and voice transmission.

We chose Alibaba Cloud based on their leading status in the China market, their expertise in e-commerce, and their presence in the U.S and Europe where we have a strong customer base. Alibaba Cloud also made sense because we wanted to integrate DingTalk (an Alibaba product) into our business operations.

Products Used: DingTalk, Auto Scaling, Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Object Storage Services (OSS), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Anti-DDoS We have deployed our product on more than 400 ECS instances, which guarantees high performance and effectiveness of our website through improved browsing speed and bandwidth. Alibaba Cloud provides us with global network coverage (deployed on 25 nodes) to help us effectively reach our end users in different regions as well. Our operations for the European and North American market have benefited greatly from using a Content Delivery Network (CDN) which accelerates download and load page time. Alibaba Cloud’s Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) has helped us to make our routing decisions based on paths and network policies. This process has helped to optimize the user experience through improved network quality and minimalized latency. Auto Scaling has allowed us to flexibly scale our servers, which lets us respond to peak inflow of requests and ensure availability through load distribution. Object Storage Service (OSS) ensures effective database backup and restoration of our resources, while Anti-DDoS secures us from DDoS attacks, cracking, and other threats. We have also made our application more secure by applying additional layers of security provided by Alibaba Cloud’s multi-user isolation option. Finally, through Alibaba’s instant messaging service DingTalk, we have enabled smooth chat, video, image, voice transmission, and sharing across the globe for our international users.
