Web Application Firewall:SeCU resource plans

Overview

If you use a pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 instance, you are charged based on your resource usage. Bills are generated at the end of each billing cycle. After you purchase SeCU resource plans, you are charged based on SeCUs.

Take note of the following information about SeCU resource plans:

• Before you can use a SeCU resource plan, you must pay for the plan.

• Each SeCU resource plan has a validity period.

• When a SeCU resource plan is exhausted or expires, fees are deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account to settle your bill.

• You can use your Alibaba Cloud account to settle your bill only if the account has sufficient balance.

Deduction rules

The SeCUs that you consume are deducted from your SeCU resource plan. For example, you can use a SeCU resource plan whose specification is 2000 to offset 2,000 SeCUs.

You can purchase multiple SeCU resource plans. The resource plans are used based on the following rules:

• If you purchase multiple SeCU resource plans, the resource plan that has the earliest expiration time is preferentially used. If the expiration time of the resource plans is the same, the resource plan that has the earliest purchase time is preferentially used.

• When a SeCU resource plan is exhausted or expires, fees are deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account to settle your bill.

Validity period

A SeCU resource plan has a validity period of one month or one year.

• Monthly SeCU resource plans: 10,000, 100,000, 500,000, 1 million, and 5 million

• Annual SeCU resource plans: 2000, 100,000, 500,000, 1 million, 5 million, 10 million, and 50 million

After a SeCU resource plan expires, you cannot use the resource plan to offset fees. You must purchase new SeCU resource plans.

Time when the validity period starts and time when fees are deducted

After you purchase a SeCU resource plan, the resource plan immediately takes effect. You can use the SeCU resource plan to offset fees that are generated on the current day.

Unsubscription policy

Self-service unsubscription is not supported. If your SeCU resource plan meets the following conditions, submit a ticket on the New Ticket page to unsubscribe from the resource plan:

• The SeCU resource plan is purchased in the previous five days.

• The SeCU resource plan is not used.

Purchase a SeCU resource plan

1. Go to the WAF 3.0 SeCU Resource Plan buy page.

2. Configure the Resource Plan Specifications, Quantity, and Validity Period parameters.

   Note

   A SeCU resource plan that has a higher specification is more cost-effective.

3. Confirm the configurations, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.

   You cannot renew or upgrade SeCU resource plans. If the SeCU resource plan that you purchased cannot meet your business requirements, you can use the following methods to resolve the issue:

   • Purchase multiple SeCU resource plans. You can specify a custom value for the Quantity parameter to purchase multiple SeCU resource plans.

   • Purchase a SeCU resource plan that has a high specification.

View the usage details of a SeCU resource plan

1. Log on to the Billing Management console.

2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Manage Reserved Instances.

3. On the Manage Reserved Instances page, set the Resource Type parameter to Resource Packages.

   • Click Set Threshold Alert. In the Set Threshold Alert dialog box, turn on Set Quota Alert and configure the Set Batch Threshold Proportion parameter.

     If the remaining quota of your SeCU resource plan is lower than the threshold, the system sends you notifications.

• On the Details tab, you can view the usage details of your SeCU resource plans.
