An official license for each module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK is valid for one year. After the license for a module expires, you can no longer use the module until you renew the license. Validity period of different types of licenses
Trial license
A trial license for ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK is valid for 30 days from the date on which you apply for the trial license and expires at 00:00:00 on the day following the end of the validity period. For example, if you apply for a trial license for ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK on March 1, 2023, the trial license remains valid until the end of March 31, 2023 and expires at 00:00:00 on April 1, 2023.
Free license
ApsaraVideo Player SDK Standard Edition and Push SDK Standard Edition come with a free license option. Push SDK Standard Edition is also known as Push SDK Interactive Edition.
When you purchase a free license for a module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK by making a zero payment in the ApsaraVideo Live or ApsaraVideo VOD (VOD) console, the free license is activated on the day on which you complete the purchase. The free license is valid for one year and expires at 00:00:00 on the day following the end of the validity period in the next year. Alibaba Cloud automatically renews the license if you do not reach a special agreement with Alibaba Cloud. For example, if you purchase a free license for Short video SDK on March 1, 2023, the free license remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024 and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024.
Paid license
When you purchase a paid license for a module of ApsaraVideo MediaBox SDK, the paid license is activated on the day on which you complete the purchase. The paid license is valid for one year and expires at 00:00:00 on the day following the end of the validity period in the next year. For example, if you purchase a paid license for Short video SDK on March 1, 2023, the paid license remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024 and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024.
Complimentary license that comes with a resource plan purchase
Complimentary licenses that come as a bonus with a resource plan purchase are only for Short video SDK Basic Edition, Short video SDK Standard Edition, and Queen SDK Basic Edition.
When you purchase a resource plan of VOD, Intelligent Media Services (IMS), or ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS), you can claim a complimentary license. The complimentary license is activated on the day on which you purchase the resource plan. The complimentary license is valid for one year and expires at 00:00:00 on the day following the end of the validity period in the next year. For example, if you purchase a VOD resource plan on March 1, 2023 and redeem a complimentary license, the complimentary license remains valid until the end of March 1, 2024 and expires at 00:00:00 on March 2, 2024.
