Dedicated VMware environment (also known as PrivateCloud instance)

A PrivateCloud instance provides computing, storage, and network services based on the VMware SDDC software stack (SDDC is short for software-defined data center). You are charged for using a PrivateCloud instance based on the host types and the number of hosts included in the instance.

Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

You must create a VPC for a PriviteCloud instance. In addition, you must create an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance in the VPC, which serves as a jump server to access the VMware management components of the PrivateCloud instance. VMware workloads in the PrivateCloud instance access cloud services, such as ECS and Object Storage Service (OSS), by using the VPC.

You are not charged for using the VPC itself, but related features are charged according to the billing rules described in the related product documentation.

• The VPC is free of charge. Other related features are charged according to the VPC billing rules.

Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN)

You must create a CEN instance to attach the VPC to the CEN and build a private communication channel between a PrivateCloud instance and your on-premises data center to achieve network-wide communication.

You are charged for using CEN according to the billing rules of CEN.

• Only Basic Edition transit routers of CEN are supported.

ECS

Before you access the management components vCenter and NSX Manager of a PrivateCloud instance for the first time, you must create an ECS instance in the VPC, which serves as a jump server to access the endpoints of the corresponding services. You are charged for using ECS according to the billing rules of ECS.
