This topic describes how to create a workload network segment for a dedicated VMware environment.
Prerequisites
You are familiar with how to log on to a dedicated VMware environment from an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) jump server. For more information, see Log on to a dedicated VMware environment.
Tasks
Create an NSX-T segment
(Optional) Enable the DHCP service
Create an NSX-T segment
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud VMware Service (ACVS) console. In the left-side navigation pane, click PrivateCloud to open the configuration page of a PrivateCloud instance.
WarningThe current version of ACVS does not support network segments created in the NSX-T console. If you create network segments in the NSX-T console, the network segments cannot communicate with Alibaba Cloud virtual private clouds (VPCs) or on-premises data centers.
Click the NSX-T configuration tab, and then click Create NSX Overlay network segment.

In the dialog box that appears, set the Name and Network segment parameters, and then click OK.
WarningThe NSX-T segment subnet must be configured with the IP address range for a subnet. Example of correct format: 192.168.0.0/24. Example of incorrect format: 192.168.0.1/24.
The NSX-T overlay network segment is being created.

Wait until the NSX overlay network segment is created. If the NSX-T overlay network segment is not required, you can delete it.
WarningYou must create the NSX-T overlay network segment in the ACVS console in advance, and then log on to the NSX-T console to create an NSX-T segment. Otherwise, the network connection of the NSX-T segment fails.
Log on to the NSX-T console, and click ADD SEGMENT.
Set Segment Name and Subnets, and then click SAVE.
Click NO to complete the creation of the NSX segment.
(Optional) Enable the DHCP service
By default, the DHCP service is not enabled for NSX-T segments. You need to configure a fixed IP address for a virtual machine (VM). To enable the DHCP service, click the More icon before an NSX-T segment name and then select Edit, as shown in the following figure.

Click SET DHCP CONFIG.

In the Set DHCP Config dialog box, turn on DHCP Config, set the IP address range in the DHCP Ranges section, and then click APPLY.

After you configure the NSX-T segment, click SAVE.

Click CLOSE EDITING. Otherwise, the configuration modifications are lost.
