What is auto-renewal?

Auto-renewal automatically renews subscription resources before they expire, preventing service disruption or data loss.

Most subscription-based Alibaba Cloud products support auto-renewal. Supported products show an Enable Auto-Renewal button on their page in the Renewal Management console.

Auto-renewal rules

• The product must use the subscription billing model.

• Auto-renewal billing dates vary by product. Most products begin billing 9 days before expiration. Some Domain Names & Websites (HiChina) products begin billing 15 days before expiration. Check the Enable Auto-Renewal page in the Renewal Management console for product-specific details.

  Important

  On Alibaba Cloud International Site (alibabacloud.com), services are typically suspended 15 days after expiration. The system attempts auto-renewal billing at: 3 days before, 1 day before, the day of expiration, 6 days after, and 14 days after expiration.

• Ensure your account has sufficient balance, credits, or vouchers for the renewal fee.

• If your resource expires the next day, auto-renewal cannot be enabled. Renew manually instead.

• Manual renewal before the scheduled auto-renewal date triggers the system to recalculate the next auto-renewal date based on the new expiration date.

• You can use coupons for auto-renewal.

Set up auto-renewal

1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Console. In the top navigation bar, choose Expenses > Renewal Management.

2. Under Commodity Name , select the cloud product for which you want to configure auto-renewal. In the resource list, find your resource and click Enable Auto-renewal. To enable for multiple resources, select them and click Enable Auto-renewal below the list.

3. In the Enable Auto-renewal dialog box, select a renewal Duration, then click Enable Auto-renewal.

Modify or cancel auto-renewal

1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Console. In the top navigation bar, choose Expenses > Renewal Management.

2. Find the resource and click Modify Auto-renewal in the Actions column.

3. In the Auto-renewal Settings dialog box, modify the renewal Duration or cancel auto-renewal, then click Confirm.
