Tablestore:What are the naming conventions of tables, columns, and instances?

When you use Tablestore, you must comply with the naming conventions of instances, tables, and columns.

Names of tables and columns

Conventions:

  • The name can contain only letters, digits, and underscores (_).

  • The name is case-sensitive.

  • The name cannot start with a digit.

  • The name must be 1 to 255 characters in length.

Instance name

The name of an instance must be unique within a region. The name can be the same across different regions.

Conventions:

  • The name can contain only letters, digits, and hyphens (-).

  • The name is case-insensitive.

  • The name must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).

  • The name must be 3 to 16 characters in length.
