According to the latest requirements from China Telecom, starting May 20, 2025, text messages sent to China Telecom mobile numbers are highly likely to be blocked if they contain the following content, resulting in delivery failure:
Links or IP addresses.
Contact information, such as mobile phone numbers, landline numbers, or other customer service numbers.
Solution:
In light of this policy, review your existing SMS templates for messages sent to mainland China and adjust the content as follows to ensure successful message delivery:
Avoid using links (including short links) and IP addresses in the message content.
Avoid including any form of contact information in the message content.
Additionally, China Telecom has enabled traffic throttling for text messages at night. If a compliant message still fails to send, the failure may be due to this throttling policy. You can try sending the message again.
