This topic describes how to create a storage capacity unit (SCU) in the ECS console.
Prerequisites
You do not have overdue payments in your account.
Background information
SCUs support only the all upfront payment method. You must make a full payment at
purchase.
Sum = Validity period × SCU capacity × SCU unit price. Unit: USD.
Procedure
- Log on to the ECS console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- Click Create Storage Capacity Unit.
- Configure the following parameters on the SCU buy page.

- Verify the total price specified by Total and click Purchase.
- Click Create Order and complete the payment.
Result
After you purchase an SCU, you can find it in the Creating state on the Storage Capacity Units page. When the status of the SCU changes to Running, the SCU begins to offset bills of eligible pay-as-you-go resources in the current
region.
