A resource owner can add principals to or remove principals from the resource shares created by the resource owner.

  • For more information about the limits on principals, see Limits.
  • A principal has the following states:
    • Associating: The principal is being added.
    • Associated: The principal is added.
    • Failed: The principal fails to be added.
    • Separating: The principal is being removed.
    • Separated: The principal is removed.

    The system deletes the records of principals in the Separated or Failed state within 48 hours to 96 hours after you remove or fail to add the principals.


  1. Log on to the Resource Management console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Resource Sharing > Resources I Share.
  3. On the page that appears, find the desired resource share and click its ID.
  4. In the Principals section of the page that appears, click Edit.
  5. Add or remove a principal.
    • Add a principal

      You can use the Add from Resource Directory or Add Manually mode to add a principal.

    • Remove a principal

      To remove a principal, click Remove in the Actions column that corresponds to the principal in the Added Principals section. After the principal is removed, it cannot share the resources in the resource share.

  6. Click OK.
