    ApsaraDB RDS:How do I change the storage type of an ApsaraDB RDS instance from cloud disk to local disk?

    The method to change from cloud disk (standard SSD or ESSD) to local disk depends on the database engine, edition, and current storage type.

    Upgrade path: MySQL 5.7 Basic Edition with standard SSDs

    If the instance runs MySQL 5.7 on RDS Basic Edition and uses standard SSDs, change the storage type to local disk by upgrading to RDS High-availability Edition through a specification change.

    Migration path: all other configurations

    For instances that do not meet the conditions above, direct storage type change is not supported. Create a new instance with local disks and migrate data:

    1. Create an ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instance with local disks.

    2. Migrate data between ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL instances.

    Note: The procedures described apply to ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL. For other database engines such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server, refer to the corresponding product documentation.
