:Business Insights

The Business Insights feature provides business teams with a unified, global view of company operations. It uses real-time data and interactive analysis to accurately reflect business performance, identify anomalies, investigate root causes, and pinpoint business issues. This feature delivers a reliable data foundation for strategic planning and operational optimization.

Important

This is a value-added module and requires a separate purchase.

Prerequisites

  • You have permission to use datasets.

  • You have permission to create and edit Business Insights.

Accessing the feature

Follow the steps in the figure to go to the Key Driver AnalysisBusiness Insights page.

On the Business Insights page, you can create and manage business insights.

Create a business insight

  1. Click Create Business Insight.

  2. The page for creating a business insight appears.

  3. Create and configure metric nodes and text nodes. For specific instructions, see the sections below.

  4. If you create multiple nodes, arrange and connect them based on your business logic.

Metric nodes

Use metric nodes to perform in-depth analysis and key driver analysis on metrics in a dataset.

  1. Drag a metric node to the canvas.image

  2. On the metric configuration page, complete the following settings.

    1. Select Metric Insight.

      You can select a published metric insight.

      Alternatively, click Create Metric Insight to open the creation page.

    2. On the Insight Briefing tab, show or hide the Title Area, Key Drivers, Driver Summary, and Detailed Analysis.

      The Driver Summary supports Custom Prompt settings.

    3. On the Insight Canvas tab, configure View Settings and Driver Node settings.

      1. In View Settings, set the Default Expansion Level. This includes Expand to Level N (up to 6 levels) and the default expansion state, which can be Collapse All or Expand All.

      2. In Driver Node, set Primary Metric to Contribution Rate or Contribution Amount.

    4. Double-click the metric node name to change it.

Text nodes

Use text nodes to explain the overall business insight or describe a specific part of the process. Add your analysis, conclusions, or notes as needed.

Insight parameters

If global insight parameters conflict with the default parameters of an individual metric insight, the global parameters take precedence. Configure global insight parameters as follows.

  1. Click the Insight Parameters button in the upper-left corner.

  2. Modify the names and dimension values for the baseline group and control group of the insight dimension.

  3. Click OK.

Add query conditions

  1. Click the add query condition button image in the upper-left corner.

  2. Configure the query conditions.image

  3. Click OK.

Global configuration

  1. Click the Global Configuration button in the upper-right corner to open the configuration panel.image

  2. In the global configuration panel, configure the following settings.image

    • Under Basic Settings, specify whether to Show Watermark.

    • Under Business Insight Briefing, specify whether to show the Title Area, Core Conclusions, Sub-metric Details, and Action Items. This section also supports Custom Prompt settings.

  3. After you finish, click Update Briefing at the bottom to update the business briefing.

Manage business insights

Scheduled insights

When scheduled insights are enabled, the business insight runs automatically at a specified time. It generates business insight briefings and metric insight briefings, which you can view on the preview page or from the Xiao Q Insight entry point.

  1. Click the Scheduled Insight button.

  2. Enable Scheduled Insight.

  3. Set Runtime Parameters.

    Set the schedule to daily, weekly, or monthly.

    Select a Specific User to run the insight task.

    Note

    Run the insight task as the specified user to get personalized insight results, which only the specified user can view.

  4. Set Insight Parameters.

    Modify the names and dimension values of the baseline and control groups for the insight dimension.

  5. Click OK to complete the configuration.

Preview

Click Preview to open the business insight preview page.image

On the preview page, you can configure insight parameters, schedule insights, and save your work. You can also click Continue Editing to return to the editor.

Save

Click the Save button. Enter a custom Name for the business insight, select a save Location, and click OK. As needed, you can select Enable auto-save for subsequent processes.

Save and publish

Click the Save and Publish button, and then click OK in the confirmation dialog box that appears.

If the business insight has not been saved, enter a custom Name, select a save Location, and click OK.

Republish

After you update a published business insight, click Republish to make the changes live.

Save as

  1. Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select Save as.

  2. Enter a custom Name for the new business insight, select a save Location, and click OK. As needed, you can select Enable auto-save for subsequent processes.

Auto-save

Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select Auto-save.image

When selected, the business insight is saved automatically during editing.

View in a new tab

Note

Only published business insights support viewing in a new tab.

  1. Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select View in new tab.image

  2. The preview page opens in a new tab.

    On the preview page, you can do the following:

    • Configure Insight Parameters.

    • Click Run to execute the insight task.image

    • View in full screen.

      image

    • Click Edit to return to the metric insight editing page.

Collaboration authorization

  1. Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select Collaboration Authorization.image

  2. On the Collaboration Authorization page, grant view or edit permissions to users.

    Note
    • When the status is Private, only the resource owner and workspace administrators have edit permissions. To grant edit permissions to specific members, first switch the status to Specific Members.

    • Edit permission can only be granted to users in this workspace who have Create (Edit) Business Insight permission.

    • Query and View permissions can only be granted to users in this workspace who have Query Business Insight permission.

      • Query: Can initiate business insights in Smart Xiao Q → Xiao Q Insight.

      • View: Can view generated business insight briefings.

Unpublish

Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select Unpublish. After a business insight is unpublished, users can no longer view or use it.

Keyboard shortcuts

  1. Click the image icon in the upper-right corner and select Keyboard Shortcuts.image

  2. View the keyboard shortcuts for business insights.

Switch between light and dark themes

Set the theme to Light Mode, Dark Mode, or Follow Organization Settings.

Operations on the Business Insights list page

Follow the steps in the figure to go to the Key Driver Analysis → Business Insights list page.

On the Business Insights list page, you can do the following:

Preview

Click the image icon next to the target business insight to open the preview page.

On the preview page, you can run key driver analysis and perform other operations. For more information, see View in a new tab.

Edit

Click the name of the target business insight or the image icon in the Actions column to open the editor.

View in a new window

Click the image icon in the Actions column to open the view in a new window.

Note

Only published business insights support viewing in a new window.

Collaboration authorization

  1. Click the image icon and select Collaboration Authorization.image

  2. On the Collaboration Authorization page, grant view or edit permissions to users.

    Note
    • When the status is Private, only the resource owner and workspace administrators have edit permissions. To grant edit permissions to specific members, first switch the status to Specific Members.

    • Edit permission can only be granted to users in this workspace who have Create (Edit) Business Insight permission.

Scheduled insight records

After enabling Scheduled Insights, you can view scheduled insight records.

  1. Click the image icon in the Actions column and select Scheduled Insight Records.image

  2. Filter records by Task Start Time and Insight Status.

Properties

  1. Click the image icon in the Actions column and select Properties.image

  2. On the Properties page, you can change the Name, transfer the Owner, and add a Description for the business insight.

  3. Click OK to complete the property configuration.

Move to

  1. Click the image icon in the Actions column and select Move to.image

  2. Move the resource to another folder.

  3. Click OK to complete the move.

Unpublish

Click the image icon in the Actions column and select Unpublish. After a business insight is unpublished, users can no longer view it.

Delete

  1. Click the image icon in the Actions column and select Delete.

    Note

    Only business insights with a publishing status of Unpublished can be deleted.

  2. Click OK in the confirmation dialog box that appears.

After you configure a business insight, you can view and analyze it in Q Attribution.
