On the Settings tab of the Setting page of a Prometheus instance, you can view the remote read endpoints, remote write endpoints, and HTTP API endpoints. This topic describes how to obtain the endpoints of a Prometheus instance connected to a cloud service. This topic also describes how to obtain the endpoints of a Prometheus instance connected to a Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) cluster.
Prerequisites
Your service is monitored by Managed Service for Prometheus. For more information, see .Procedure
- Log on to the Prometheus console.
- In the top navigation bar, select the region where your Prometheus instance is deployed.
- On the Prometheus Monitoring page, click the name of the Prometheus instance that you want to manage.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click Settings. On the page that appears, click the Settings tab.
View the endpoints of a Prometheus instance connected to a cloud service
On the Settings tab, click the icon next to the cloud service that you want to manage. The remote read, remote write, and HTTP API endpoints are displayed. In the Token section, the authentication tokens of the Prometheus instance are displayed.
View the endpoints of a Prometheus instance connected to an ACK cluster
Click the Settings tab on the Settings page. The remote read, remote write, and HTTP API endpoints are displayed. In the Token section, the authentication tokens of the Prometheus instance are displayed. You can obtain the endpoints of other types of Prometheus instances in the same manner as you obtain the endpoints of a Prometheus instance connected to an ACK cluster.
What to do next
- If you connect your Prometheus instance in Managed Service for Prometheus to self-managed Grafana, and you want to achieve horizontal pod autoscaling (HPA) by using Prometheus metrics, you need to read data from Managed Service for Prometheus. If you create a self-managed Prometheus instance and a registered cluster, you need to write data to Managed Service for Prometheus. If you want to remotely read data from or write data to Managed Service for Prometheus, you can enhance data security by using authentication tokens. For information about how to use a token to connect Managed Service for Prometheus to self-managed Grafana, see Import data from Managed Service for Prometheus to a local Grafana system. For information about how to connect a registered cluster to Managed Service for Prometheus, see Connect a registered Kubernetes cluster to Managed Service for Prometheus over the Internet.
- You can use remote read endpoints and remote write endpoints to store the monitoring data collected by self-managed Prometheus instances to Managed Service for Prometheus. For more information, see Create a Prometheus instance for remote storage.
- You can use HTTP API endpoints to import monitoring data from Managed Service for Prometheus to on-premises Grafana. For more information, see Import data from Managed Service for Prometheus to a local Grafana system.
