Public network access

A PolarDB-X 1.0 instance has an internal network address by default. This address allows applications and MySQL clients on Alibaba Cloud ECS to connect to databases on the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance. To access PolarDB-X 1.0 from a network outside Alibaba Cloud, you must apply for a public IP address for the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance. This topic describes how to apply for and release a public IP address.

Apply for a public IP address

  1. Log on to the PolarDB-X 1.0 console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  4. Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.

  5. In the Connection Information section, click Apply for Public IP Address in the upper-right corner.

  6. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
    Warning
    • To ensure data security, add your application's IP addresses to the instance's IP whitelist. For more information, see Configure an IP whitelist.
    • Release Public IP AddressTo ensure data security, promptly release the public IP address when you no longer need it.

Release a public IP address

  1. Log on to the PolarDB-X 1.0 console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  4. Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.

  5. In the Connection Information section, click Release Public IP Address in the upper-right corner.
