This topic describes how to switch a PolarDB-X 1.0 instance from the classic network to a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC).

PolarDB-X 1.0 lets you switch an instance from the classic network to a VPC and supports hybrid access. After the switch, the original classic network endpoint is retained for a period to facilitate a smooth service migration to the VPC.

Limitations

This method applies only to dedicated instances. If you use a shared instance, contact us to migrate it to a dedicated instance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB-X console.

  2. In the top-left corner of the page, select the region of your target instance.

  3. Click the PolarDB-X 1.0 tab.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.

  5. Find your target instance and click its instance ID.

  6. In the Common Operations section, click Switch to VPC.

  7. Select a VPC and a vSwitch. To retain the classic network endpoint, select Retain Original Classic Network Endpoint, and then click OK.

Important

After you submit the request, the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance creates a VPC connection string. The original classic network endpoint is retained for a period. To prevent service disruptions after the endpoint is reclaimed, you must migrate your applications on Elastic Compute Service (ECS) to the corresponding VPC and use the VPC connection string to access PolarDB-X 1.0 as soon as possible.
