This topic describes how to switch the network type of a PolarDB-X 1.0 instance from classic network to VPC.
PolarDB-X 1.0 allows you to switch the network type of an instance from classic network to VPC and supports hybrid access to both the classic network and VPC. After the switch, the original classic network endpoint is retained for a period of time to ensure smooth migration of your business to the VPC.
Limits
This migration solution is valid only for dedicated instances. If you use shared instances, contact us to migrate data from shared instances to dedicated instances.
Procedure
Log on to the PolarDB-X console.
In the top navigation bar, select the region in which your instance is deployed.
Click the PolarDB-X 1.0 tab.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances.
Find the instance and click the instance ID to go to the Basic Information page.
In the Common Operations section, click Switch to VPC.
If you want to retain the classic network endpoint after you select the VPC and vSwitch, select Retain Original Classic Network Endpoint and click OK.
After you submit the request, a VPC endpoint is created for the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance. The original classic network endpoint will be retained for a period of time. Migrate the corresponding ECS instance to the same VPC soon and use the VPC endpoint to access the PolarDB-X 1.0 instance. This prevents your business from being interrupted after the classic network endpoint is reclaimed.
