Backup Policy
After commercialization, the instance backup policy will be adjusted as follows:
The currently configured data backup policy remains unchanged.
If the log backup retention period is shorter than the data backup retention period, the log backup retention period will be automatically adjusted to match the data backup retention period. This resolves previous issues that prevented point-in-time recovery due to insufficient log backup retention.
Billing Details
Billing Rules
Backup files generated by PolarDB-X 2.0 backup and restore consume storage. After commercialization starts, PolarDB-X 2.0 will provide a free quota. If backup storage space usage exceeds the free quota, you will be charged for the excess.
For single-region backup: Billing is based on the storage usage and retention period of backup files (data + logs).
For cross-region backup: Billing is based on the storage usage and retention period of backup files (data + logs), and the network traffic generated by cross-region backup.
Free Quota
PolarDB-X 2.0 provides a free storage quota for backup storage space. If the free quota is exceeded, you will be charged for the excess.
Free Quota = Actual Instance Storage Usage × 50%
PolarDB-X storage uses a pay-as-you-go billing model. Therefore, the free quota for backup storage space increases with actual instance storage usage.
