PolarDB:Release a cluster

Precautions

• You cannot manually release Subscription clusters.

• You can manually release a cluster only when it is in the Status Running.

• This operation releases the entire cluster, including all nodes. To release a single read-only node: .

Procedure

1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the cluster is deployed.

3. On the Clusters page, find the target cluster. In the Actions column, choose More > Release.

4. In the Release Cluster dialog box, select a backup retention policy and click OK.

   Backup retention policy	Description
   When the cluster is released, the cluster data is automatically backed up, and all backup sets of the cluster are retained for a long period of time.	Retains all backup sets.
   When the cluster is released, the cluster data is automatically backed up, and the final backup set is retained for a long period of time.	Retains only the final backup set.
   When the cluster is released, all backup sets of the cluster are deleted immediately.	Retains no backup sets. Warning If you select this policy, you cannot restore the cluster after it is released.

   Note

   • If you select the When the cluster is released, the cluster data is automatically backed up, and all backup sets of the cluster are retained for a long period of time. or When the cluster is released, the cluster data is automatically backed up, and the final backup set is retained for a long period of time. policy, the system automatically creates a final backup of all cluster data before releasing the PolarDB cluster.

   • After release, the system automatically converts level-1 backups to level-2 backups. View retained backup sets on the Cluster Recycle Bin page. .
