Object Storage Service:What do I do to make an object permanently in the restored state?

Last Updated:Jan 26, 2024

Archive, Cold Archive, and Deep Cold Archive objects enter the frozen state after the validity period of the restored state ends. To make these objects permanently in the restored state and access them in real time, you can restore the objects and then convert the storage class of the objects to Standard or Infrequent Access (IA). For Archive objects, you can enable real-time access of Archive objects for the bucket in which the objects are stored.

Convert storage classes

If you want to make only specific Archive, Cold Archive, or Deep Cold Archive objects permanently in the restored state, you can first restore these objects and then convert the storage class of these objects to Standard or IA based on access frequency. For more information, see Call CopyObject to manually convert the storage classes of objects.

Enable real-time access of Archive objects

If you want to make only Archive objects in a bucket permanently in the restored state, you can enable real-time access of Archive objects for the bucket. This feature does not take effect on Cold Archive or Deep Cold Archive objects that are in the frozen state. For more information, see Real-time access of Archive objects.

Important

Compared with restoring Archive objects, you are charged higher data retrieval fees if you enable real-time access of Archive objects. For more information, see OSS pricing page.
