MaxCompute offers subscription-based exclusive resource groups for Data Transmission Service (DTS) to guarantee dedicated capacity for data synchronization. This topic describes the billing rules for these resource groups.
Resource group types
MaxCompute provides two types of resource groups for DTS:
| Resource group type | Billing | Supported regions | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public resource group for Data Transmission Service | Free | All MaxCompute regions | Shared across all tenants in a region. Resources are not guaranteed during peak hours, and maximum concurrency per customer is capped (varies by region). |
| Subscription-based exclusive resource group for Data Transmission Service | Subscription-based, charged per concurrent connection |
| Resources are locked for your exclusive use and cannot be shared with other tenants, ensuring stable, high-concurrency data synchronization. |
Pricing
Exclusive resource groups for DTS are billed by the number of concurrent connections. Charges start immediately after purchase.
| Metric | Region | Unit price for public cloud |
|---|---|---|
| User concurrency |
| 11 USD/month per concurrent connection |
| User concurrency |
| 17.6 USD/month per concurrent connection |
Payment amount = Unit price x Number of concurrent connections purchased x Number of months
The minimum purchase is 50 concurrent connections. US (Silicon Valley), Japan (Tokyo), and Germany (Frankfurt) are supported regions but are not listed in the pricing table above.
Subscription discounts
Accounts with completed identity verification are eligible for the following discounts. The final price is subject to the fee shown on the purchase page.
| Subscription length | Discount | Savings |
|---|---|---|
| 1 year | 15% off | Save 15% vs. monthly billing |
| 2 years | 30% off | Save 30% vs. monthly billing |
| 3 years | 50% off | Save 50% vs. monthly billing |
Scale your resource group
Add concurrent connections
If your current concurrent connections are insufficient for your workload, purchase additional connections to upgrade your resource group.
After a successful upgrade:
The newly purchased connections are allocated immediately as dedicated resources.
Billing for the added connections starts when the upgrade takes effect and ends when the subscription expires.
On the purchase page, you can add up to 500 concurrent connections per upgrade. To purchase more than 500 connections, go to the Privilege Quotas page, find the quota named MaxCompute Subscription Resources Purchase Over The Default Maximum in the Privilege Quota List, and submit a request. After the request is approved, you can make the purchase.
Release surplus connections
If you have more concurrent connections than your workload requires, downgrade the resource group to release the surplus.
Release unused resources promptly. Unused connections continue to incur charges regardless of actual usage.
After a successful downgrade, the released resources are removed immediately. A refund is issued to your payment account, prorated based on the remaining subscription duration of the released connections.
