This topic describes the Log Service endpoints for different network types.
Overview
An endpoint is a region-specific URL that you can use to access Log Service. Log Service provides endpoints for different network types, such as the Internet or an Alibaba Cloud internal network.
- In the Projects section, click the name of the project that you want to manage.
- On the Project Overview page of the project, you can view the endpoints for the region where the project resides.
Select an endpoint
You can use a public endpoint or an internal endpoint to access Log Service. The following table describes the differences between public endpoints and internal endpoints in terms of network latency and billing rules.
Item | Internal endpoint | Public endpoint |
---|---|---|
Protocol | HTTP and HTTPS | HTTP and HTTPS |
Scenario | Enable communication between Alibaba Cloud services. For example, you can use an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance that resides in the same region as a project to access Log Service by using the internal endpoint of the project.
We recommend that you use an internal endpoint. |
Access Log Service over the Internet. For example, you can call API operations and use SDKs on an on-premises server to access Log Service over the Internet by using the public endpoint of a project. |
Billing | You are charged for the billable items of Log Service. For more information, see Billable items. | In addition to the billable items that generate fees when you use internal endpoints, you are charged for read traffic over the Internet. For more information, see Billable items. |
Public Log Service endpoints
An endpoint is a URL that is used to access a project and the logs in the project. An endpoint varies based on the region where a project resides and the name of the project. Log Service is available in multiple regions. The following table describes the public Log Service endpoints for each supported region.
Region | Log Service endpoint |

- You must specify a region when you create a Log Service project.
- After you create a project, you cannot change the region where the project resides or migrate the project to another region.
- After you create a project, you must use the public endpoint for the region where the project resides to specify the project endpoint. The project endpoint is used to call API operations.
Internal Log Service endpoints
You can also use an internal endpoint to call Log Service API operations from an ECS instance. An internal endpoint is accessible over the classic network or a virtual private cloud (VPC). The following table describes the internal Log Service endpoints for each supported region.
- If you use the following internal endpoints to call Log Service API operations, only the HTTP and HTTPS protocols are supported.
- Access to Log Service over the following internal endpoints does not generate Internet traffic on ECS instances. The Internet bandwidth resources of the ECS instances are not consumed.

Endpoint for global acceleration
In addition to Alibaba Cloud internal networks and the Internet, you can use the global acceleration feature of Log Service to collect data. Compared with access to Log Service over the Internet, access to Log Service by using the global acceleration feature provides lower latency and higher stability. This feature is suitable for data collection and consumption scenarios that require reliable and fast data transmission. For more information, see Overview of global acceleration.
