Starting from 00:00 on April 8, 2024, the free quota of Internet data transfers over Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) (Multi-ISP) is increased from 20 GB /month to 200 GB /month for Cloud Data Transfer (CDT) users. This quota is shared by eight Alibaba Cloud services including Function Compute. The free quota of 100 GB/month that is provided for new users of Function Compute for three months and the free quota of 100 GB/month that is provided for existing users for 12 months remain valid until the quotas are exhausted or expire.

This free quota is valid permanently and is automatically provided. Starting from 00:00 on April 8, 2024, Function Compute users can view bills related to public data transfers to check whether the free quota is used. For more information, see View bills.
Change of free quota for new and existing users
This following items define new and existing users:
New users: Users who activate Function Compute in the Function Compute console at and after 00:00:00 on December 19, 2023.
Existing users: Users who activated Function Compute before 00:00:00 on December 19, 2023.
Function Compute provides a free quota of 100 GB/month for new users for three months and, starting from 00:00:00 on January 5, 2024, a free quota of 100 GB/month for existing users for 12 months. These quotas remain valid until exhaustion or expiration.
These quotas are exclusive to Function Compute users and can be used in combination with the free CDT quota. When the Function Compute-provided quota and the CDT-provided quota are both in effect, the CDT quota is used first.
If your monthly public data transfers exceed the free quota provided by Function Compute and the CDT quota combined, you are charged based on a tiered pricing model. For more information, see Billing overview and Billing example of outbound Internet traffic.
