This topic describes the operations that can be performed by Edge Security Acceleration (ESA) in terms of TCP/UDP proxy. You can follow the instructions provided in this topic to configure the related settings.
What is TCP/UDP proxy
The TCP/UDP proxy feature of ESA is suitable for scenarios such as real-time combat gaming, real-time interactive audio and video streaming, and telecommuting. The feature provides network acceleration and security protection for TCP/UDP proxied applications, ensuring user experience with low latency and high stability.
Configure a TCP/UDP proxied application
In the ESA console, choose Websites and click the website name you want to manage.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
Click Create Application and configure parameters based on your business requirements.
Configurations
Access Configuration
Domain Name: the domain name or hostname that clients access. The system resolves the domain name to the IP address assigned by ESA for clients to access over the TCP/UDP protocol.
Security
IP Access Rules: When it is enabled, the IP access rules set in WAF take effect for the TCP/UDP proxied application.
Proxy Rules
Protocol: the protocol that your application uses at the TCP/UDP protocol.
Edge Port: the port used to access ESA.
Origin Server: the IP address or domain name of the origin server from which ESA pulls content.
Origin Port: the port number of your origin server.
Pass Client IP: the proxy protocol over which the originating IP addresses and port information of clients are passed to the origin server.
For more information about how to configure a TCP/UDP proxied application, see Configure TCP/UDP proxy.
What is TCP/UDP proxy analytics
TCP/UDP proxy analytics is suitable for scenarios where network performance issues, security threats, and connection failures exist, or other scenarios that require in-depth understanding of network traffic. TCP/UDP proxy analytics provides detailed traffic information to help you identify network bottlenecks, abnormal traffic modes, and service interruptions.
View the dashboard
In the ESA console, choose Websites and click the website name you want to manage.Website
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
View TCP/UDP proxy logs
To view the logs, perform the following steps:
Real-time Logs: When you create a delivery task, set the log type to TCP/UDP Proxy Log. For more information, see Create a real-time log delivery task.
Standard logs: On the Standard Logs page, set the log type to TCP/UDP Proxy Log. For more information, see Standard logs.
