Why am I still billed after I disable Dynamic Route for CDN (DCDN) for my domain name?

Causes

After you disable DCDN, fees are still incurred in the following scenarios:
  • Possible cause 1: The resolution settings of your domain name are cached on the local DNS server

    If the resolution settings of your domain name are cached on the local DNS server and remain effective after you disable DCDN for your domain name, the local DNS server will still resolve your domain name to a DCDN edge node. In this case, requests that are destined for your domain name are still redirected to DCDN and incur data transfer fees. You can disable and delete your domain name to avoid unnecessary fees incurred by requests cached on the local DNS server.

  • Possible cause 2: DNS records are cached on download managers

    If the DNS records on the local DNS server are cached in a download manager and remain effective after you disable DCDN for your domain name, the download manager will resolve your domain name to a DCDN edge node. In this case, requests that are destined for your domain name are still redirected to Alibaba Cloud DCDN and incur data transfer fees.

  • Possible cause 3: Bills are delayed

    A resource plan takes effect immediately after you complete the payment. However, it takes 3 to 4 hours for DCDN to issue a bill after a billing cycle ends. For example, the bill that was issued at 10:00:00 (UTC+8) on October 10, 2020 belongs to the billing cycle from 06:00:00 (UTC+8) on October 10, 2020 to 07:00:00 (UTC+8) on October 10, 2020. After you receive a bill, check the time when the bill is issued and the billing cycle of the bill.
