Data Transmission Service:Billing methods for DTS dedicated clusters

Last Updated:Mar 30, 2026

DTS dedicated clusters use the subscription (prepaid) billing method. Your total cost consists of up to three components:

Total cost = Cluster specification fee + Internet traffic fee (if applicable) + Storage fee (excess only)

Creating DTS instances within a dedicated cluster incurs no additional charge — you pay only for the cluster resources.

Billing method

DTS dedicated clusters support only the subscription billing method. Pay-as-you-go is not supported. Pay for the cluster upfront on the buy page.

Billable items

Billable item Billing rule
Cluster specification fee Charged based on subscription. Each node supports 15 DTS units (DUs), allowing up to 15 concurrent DTS instances. With overcommitment mode enabled at a 200% overcommit ratio, a single node supports up to 30 DUs and 30 concurrent DTS instances.
Internet traffic fee Charged when a data migration task moves data from an Alibaba Cloud database to an on-premises database or a database in another cloud. Traffic under 1 GB is charged as 1 GB. For unit prices by region, see Billing of Internet traffic.
Storage fee Each node includes 1 TB of storage at no charge. Excess storage is charged monthly using the formula: Unit price × Excess storage space (GB) in a month. Expand storage capacity when purchasing the cluster or after creation. For unit prices by region, see Billing of storage space.
Data verification tasks in a DTS dedicated cluster are not charged.

Cost estimation example

The following example shows how to estimate the monthly bill for a single-node DTS dedicated cluster in China (Hangzhou):

Item Details Monthly cost
Cluster specification fee 1 node, subscription Based on the selected subscription plan
Internet traffic fee 50 GB outbound traffic 50 GB × USD 0.123/GB = USD 6.15
Storage fee 1.5 TB used, 500 GB excess 500 GB × USD 0.16/GB = USD 80.00
