When Alibaba Cloud CDN requests resources from an origin server, the default timeout period is 30 seconds. If a request times out, the request fails. You can set a custom timeout period based on your business requirements and network status to ensure that back-to-origin routing works as expected. This topic describes how to set a timeout period for back-to-origin requests.

Background information

The time for back-to-origin routing refers to the HTTP request time at Layer 7, excluding the time for establishing the TCP connection. 3
