Transfer DNS records to another account in batches

Limits

1. Alibaba Cloud registered domain names using the Free Edition of DNS can be transferred. Domain names bound to paid Cloud DNS instances cannot be directly transferred.

2. Domain names that have been used as the suffix of CNAME Access Domain Name for Global Traffic Manager instances are not supported. Global Traffic Manager CNAME Access Domain Name must be associated with a public domain name in the same account. For more information, see Custom access domain name.

   Note

   This rule applies to Global Traffic Manager 3.0. For older versions of Global Traffic Manager, after the domain name resolution records are transferred, the Global Traffic Manager will follow the last effective policy and will no longer have failover capability. Subsequent adjustments to the Global Traffic Manager scheduling policy will not take effect.

3. This feature is limited to domain names registered under your account. Domain names not registered under your account or domain names not registered with Alibaba Cloud are not supported.

4. After batch transferring domain names to other accounts, the new account has management permissions for domain name resolution. These permissions include DNS record management but do not include domain name registration-related management permissions.

5. This feature is only available for Alibaba Cloud accounts. RAM users are not supported.

6. This feature is only available on the China site (aliyun.com). The international site (alibabacloud.com) is not supported, and cross-site transfers are not supported. (Cross-site refers to transfers between China site and international site accounts)

7. Transferring paid Cloud DNS instances to other accounts is not supported.

Procedure

1. Go to Alibaba Cloud DNS for Public Authoritative Zone.

2. On the Public Zone tab, click Batch Operation.

   

3. Click Domain Name > Manage Domain Names. Enter the domain names that you want to transfer, and then click Transfer Domain Names to Another Account.

   

4. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter the verification code from the text message or email, the Login Account, and the Destination Account ID. Then submit the form.

   

5. To view the results of the batch task, go to the Batch Operation Logs tab and click Download Log Details.

   

Delete Domain Names

Limits

• Domain names registered with Alibaba Cloud cannot be deleted from Alibaba Cloud DNS.

• If you delete a domain name registered with a third-party provider from Alibaba Cloud DNS, its DNS records are also deleted. If the deleted domain name is attached to an Enterprise Edition DNS instance, the domain name is detached from the instance and the Enterprise Edition DNS features no longer apply.

Procedure

1. Log on to Alibaba Cloud DNS for Public Authoritative Zone.

2. On the Public Zone tab, click Batch Operation.

   

3. Click Domain Name > Manage Domain Names.

4. Enter the domain names to delete, and then click Delete Domain Names.

5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

6. To view the batch task results, go to the Batch Operation Logs tab and click Download Log Details.

   

Change groups

1. Log on to Alibaba Cloud DNS for Public Authoritative Zone.

2. On the Public Zone tab, click Batch Operation.

   

3. Click Domain Name > Manage Domain Names.

4. Enter the domain names whose group you want to change, and then click Change Group.

5. In the dialog box that appears, select the destination group and submit the changes.

6. To view the batch task results, go to the Batch Operation Logs tab and click Download Log Details.
