:alert settings

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2026

Overview

Alert settings include Alert Group and Notification Methods.

Alert Group: A set of contacts who receive notifications about service exceptions. When the Global Traffic Manager (GTM) health check feature detects an exception, such as an abnormal IP address or an unavailable address pool, GTM sends an alert to the specified alert group.

Notification Methods: This setting specifies which event types trigger alerts and how notifications are sent. Alert Event Type options include Address Unavailable, Address Restored to Available, Address Pool Unavailable, and Address Pool Restored to Available. Available notification methods include Email Notification, Chatbot Notification, and Text Message Notification. Chatbot notifications support DingTalk, WeCom, and Lark.

Procedure

Method 1: Inherit the global alert configuration

  1. Log in to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.

  2. In the left navigation pane, click Global Traffic Manager, and then click the Global Traffic Manager 3.0 tab.

  3. Click the Monitoring and Alerting tab, and then select Global Alert Configuration.

  4. Select an Alert Group and Notification Methods, and then click Save.

    Note
    • Alert groups are retrieved from the alert groups that you configure in Alibaba Cloud CloudMonitor. For configuration instructions, see Create an alert contact or alert contact group.

    • You can select one to five alert groups.

    • By default, an access domain name inherits the global alert configuration.

    • Text message notifications are not supported on the international site (alibabacloud.com).

By default, on the Monitoring and Alerting > Global Alert Configuration page, all alert event types (Address Unavailable, Address Restored to Available, Address Pool Unavailable, and Address Pool Restored to Available) are enabled, and the default notification method is Email Notification.

Method 2: Custom alert configuration

  1. On the Access Domain tab, find the desired instance and click Alert in the Actions column.

  2. In the Modify Alert Configuration dialog box, set Configuration Method to Custom Alert Configuration.

  3. Configure the Alert Group and Notification Methods, and then click OK.
