This topic describes the expiration and overdue payments of a dedicated host and the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances deployed on the dedicated host.
Background information
Warning If your dedicated hosts are about to be out of service due to expiration or an overdue payment, the system will send you a notification. To ensure service continuity, renew resource plans at the earliest opportunity.
Expiration
The following table describes the expiration of dedicated hosts and the ECS instances deployed on the dedicated host.
Note Before an ECS instance is automatically released, you can migrate the ECS instance and its resources to another subscription dedicated host for further use. For more information, see Migrate ECS instances between different dedicated hosts in the DDH console.
The status of the resources may change on the expiration date based on whether auto-renewal is enabled.
- The following table describes the resource status changes that occur if the auto-renewal feature is not enabled. The following table describes the status of dedicated host resources after the subscription host expires.
Resource Within 15 days after the host expires More than 15 days after the host expires Dedicated host The dedicated host is shut down at any time from 00:00:00 of the expiration date to 00:00:00 of the following day. The dedicated host is released. ECS instance (vCPU and memory) ECS instances are automatically stopped after subscription dedicated hosts are stopped. All ECS instances on the dedicated host are released. The related data is lost and cannot be recovered. Additional ECS resources, such as images, disks, public bandwidth, and snapshots For more information, see Overdue payments.
