Dataphin:Deployment center

Last Updated:Jan 21, 2025

Within the development workflow, developers are required to adhere to strict database permissions. They typically complete task development, configure basic and schedule properties, and conduct data backfill testing within the development project. Following this, tasks are submitted to the Deployment Center. Only tasks that are successfully published will become active and be scheduled for execution in the production environment. This process ensures a clear separation between development and production activities, safeguarding the quality of assets.

Limits

The deployment feature is only available for projects that follow the Dev-Prod pattern.

How it works

The Deployment Center comprises Objects To Publish and Publishing History:

  • The Objects To Publish page lists all objects awaiting publication that the current user has publish-view permission for. This includes data objects submitted through integration sync, normative modeling, and data processing modules. Users can publish individual or multiple objects to the production environment from this page.

  • The Publishing History page allows users to view the status and details of published data objects.

    • Data objects that are published successfully will be removed from the pending list and recorded in the publishing history as successful.

    • Data objects that fail to publish will remain in the pending list, and a failed attempt will be recorded in the publishing history.
