This topic describes how to release pay-as-you-go instances in the Data Transmission Service (DTS) console.
Usage notes
- The billing method of your DTS instances must be pay-as-you-go. Note You cannot manually release a subscription instance. If you do not renew a subscription instance after it expires, the instance will be automatically released seven days later.
- If a DTS instance is released, it cannot be retrieved.

What to do next
After a DTS task is complete or a DTS instance is released, we recommend that you manually remove the CIDR blocks of DTS servers from the security settings of the source and destination database instances. This way, DTS can no longer access the source and destination databases. For more information, see the "CIDR blocks of DTS servers" section of the Add the CIDR blocks of DTS servers to the security settings of on-premises databases topic.
- Among the IP address whitelists of Alibaba Cloud database instances, delete the IP address whitelists whose names contain
dts
. - For the security group rules of Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances, delete the security groups whose names contain
DTS
. - In the security settings of self-managed databases or databases hosted on third-party cloud services, remove the CIDR blocks of DTS servers.
