Container Service for Kubernetes:[Product Changes] ACK automatically releases elastic container instances when you delete ACK clusters or ACK Serverless clusters

Last Updated:Aug 18, 2023

To improve user experience, Alibaba Cloud will update the control planes of Container Service for Kubernetes from the middle of October 2022 to the end of October 2022. When you delete an ACK cluster or ACK Serverless cluster, ACK automatically releases the elastic container instances that are deployed in the cluster. ACK no longer reminds you to release existing elastic container instances when you delete the cluster. We recommend that you prepare before the update starts.

Before the change

Before you delete an ACK cluster or ACK Serverless cluster, you need to manually release the elastic container instances in the cluster. Otherwise, you fail to delete the cluster. If you do not release the elastic container instances, the instances continuously incur fees.

After the change

The system attempts to release the elastic container instances in the cluster and no longer reminds you to release elastic container instances when you delete a cluster.

Important

Container Service for Kubernetes will release the elastic container instances that fail to be released after periodic resource checking.
