Compute Nest:Configure parameter sets

Last Updated:Jun 09, 2025

Service providers can configure some or all of the parameters in a service as a parameter set for customers. This way, customers do not need to configure a large number of parameters for a service. This reduces the learning costs and prevents invalid parameter settings. Service providers can configure multiple parameter sets for customers to implement best practices for service configurations in different scenarios. Customers can also configure custom parameter sets in a flexible manner. If multiple parameter sets are configured for a service, customers must select a parameter set when they create a service instance, and then configure parameters that are not included in the parameter set to complete the creation.

Prerequisites

A template that contains parameters is imported to Compute Nest.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console as a service provider and go to the Create Service page.

  2. On the Create Service page, select the region in which you want to deploy the service and enter the content of the service template in the Template Content field. Then, click Add Parameter Set.

  3. In the parameter set configuration section, configure parameters in the parameter set.

The available parameters are input parameters parsed from the template.

    1. In the Add Parameter column, select the parameter that you want to configure from the drop-down list.

    2. In the Plan column, modify the parameter set name and configure the parameter based on your business requirements.

      Note
      • The parameter set name must be unique.

      • If you select Instance Type from the drop-down list in the Add Parameter column when you configure a parameter set, you can specify an instance type or a range of instance types.

  5. Optional. Select Support Plan Category, and specify the name and category of the parameter set.

If you select Support Plan Category, customers can change the parameter set of a service instance to another parameter set only within the same category. Customers cannot change the parameter set of the service instance to a parameter set that belongs to another category.2023-08-31_16-11-32.png

Verify the results

  • If no parameter set is configured, all parameters in the template are displayed when a customer deploys a service instance. The customer must configure the parameters one by one.p421093

  • If one or more parameter sets are configured, a customer must select a parameter set and configure parameters that are not included in the parameter set when the customer deploys a service instance.p421095

  • If a custom parameter set is configured, a customer can customize the parameter values in the parameter set when the customer deploys a service instance.2022-05-24_11-40-58
