Migration Hub:Task management

Last Updated:Jun 02, 2026

View and manage migration tasks in Cloud Migration Hub, including starting, stopping, blocking, deleting, and batch-creating tasks.

Manage tasks

Cloud Migration Hub organizes migration tasks across two tabs:

  • All Tasks: View and manage individual DTS migration tasks — start, stop, block, delete, or assign them to a throttling scheduling group.

  • Batch Task Group: Create or add multiple DTS migration tasks at once using a configuration template or manual setup.

To open the All Tasks tab: log on to the Cloud Migration Hub console, then in the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the All Tasks tab.

To open the Batch Task Group tab: in the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the Batch Task Group tab.

All Tasks tab

The All Tasks tab lists all migration tasks in your project. The following table describes the operations available on this tab.

Operation

Description

View tasks

Use the search bar to find tasks by name. Fuzzy match is supported.

Start or stop tasks

Select one or more DTS migration tasks, then batch-start or batch-stop them. If no DTS instance is purchased for a task, a dialog box prompts you to select an instance type — Cloud Migration Hub purchases and starts the instance automatically.

Block tasks

Block tasks that would otherwise skew resource status. Blocked tasks remain in the task list but no longer affect resource status.

Delete tasks

Delete tasks you no longer need. Deleted tasks are removed from the task list permanently.

Add to throttling group

Add DTS migration tasks to an existing throttling scheduling group. Cloud Migration Hub dynamically adjusts the transmission rate for those tasks based on the group's configuration.

View migration tasks

Use the search bar to search for migration tasks. Fuzzy match is supported.

Start and stop migration tasks

Select one or more DTS migration tasks to batch-start or batch-stop them. If no DTS instance is purchased for a task, a dialog box appears — select the required instance type from the drop-down list to automatically purchase and start a DTS instance.

Block migration tasks

Block tasks that interfere with resource status tracking. Blocked tasks remain visible in the task list but no longer affect the status of resources.

Delete migration tasks

Delete tasks you no longer need. Deleted tasks are removed from the task list permanently.

Add migration tasks to a throttling scheduling group

Add DTS migration tasks to an existing scheduling group. Cloud Migration Hub dynamically adjusts the transmission rate of those tasks based on the group's configuration.

Batch Task Group tab

Batch create tasks

To create multiple DTS migration tasks at once: in the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. Click the Batch Task Group tab, find a task group, then click Details in the Actions column. On the details page, click Batch create tasks.

Note

Make sure that your source database can be connected to the destination database and the CIDR blocks of DTS servers are added to the security settings of the source database. For more information, see Whitelist DTS server IP addresses.

In the Migration mapping list step, add migration configurations. Two methods are available:

  • Manual: Click Add migration configuration to configure each mapping in the dialog box.

  • Template: Click the Download Template icon in the upper-right corner, fill in the Excel template, then click the Upload migration configuration icon to upload it.

image

Add migration configurations manually

Click Add migration configuration in the upper-left corner of the panel. In the Add migration configuration dialog box, configure the parameters and click Submit. For more information about the parameters, see Parameters for batch assistant.

image

Define table mappings

After adding migration configurations, click Object definitions in the Operation column to define table mappings. For more information, see Description of migration, synchronization, or subscription objects.

image

Four methods are available for defining table mappings:

  1. In the Batch Configuration Template sheet of the configuration template, define table mappings.

  1. In the Table Mapping Template sheet of the configuration template, define table mappings.

    Note

Define table mappings in either the Batch Configuration Template or the Table Mapping Template sheet. If you define mappings in both sheets, the settings in the Table Mapping Template sheet take precedence.

image

  1. Click Download Excel Template to download the table mapping template. In the template, click the upper-right corner of a cell to view the parameter description, fill in the values, then upload the template. The defined mappings are automatically added to the Table Mapping Definition Information section.

Important

Make sure that table mappings are provided for all migration configurations. Otherwise, you cannot proceed to the next step.

Add migration configurations using a template

Click the Download Template icon in the upper-right corner of the panel to download the Excel template. Fill in the template, then click the Upload migration configuration icon to upload it. Cloud Migration Hub automatically loads the configurations from the template.

In the Batch Configuration Template sheet, click the upper-right corner of any cell to view a parameter description before filling it in. To configure table mappings, switch to the Table Mapping Template sheet.

For more information about template parameters, see Parameters for batch assistant.

Modify or delete migration configurations

To modify a migration configuration, click Edit in the Operation column.

image

To delete migration configurations, select them and click Batch delete.

image

After confirming the migration configurations, click Next.

Create DTS migration tasks

In the Create DTS step, configure DTS migration tasks as prompted. For more information, see Parameters for batch assistant. Click Submission to add the tasks. The tasks appear on the details page.

image

Batch add migration tasks

To add multiple DTS migration tasks to an existing task group: in the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. Click the Batch Task Group tab, find a task group, then click Details in the Actions column. On the details page, click Bulk Add/Edit Tasks.

In the Bulk Add/Edit Tasks panel, select the forward DTS migration tasks you want to add in the Task List section, then click OK.

image

Batch create reverse DTS migration tasks

After adding tasks, the details page lists all forward DTS migration tasks in the group.

image

Batch stop forward DTS migration tasks

Before configuring reverse DTS migration tasks, stop the forward DTS migration tasks. Cloud Migration Hub lets you start, pause, or stop multiple forward DTS tasks at once.

image

Batch configure reverse DTS migration tasks

Select the forward DTS migration tasks you want to manage and click Batch create reverse tasks.

image

In the Batch create reverse tasks panel, review the configuration of the selected tasks and modify as needed. Click OK to create the reverse tasks.

image

The reverse DTS migration tasks are created and appear on the details page.

image

Batch start reverse DTS migration tasks

After reverse DTS migration tasks are created, run a precheck on them or batch-stop and batch-start them as needed.
