Migration Hub:Task management

This topic describes how to view and manage migration tasks in Cloud Migration Hub.

Manage tasks

You can perform the following operations to view migration tasks: Log on to the Cloud Migration Hub console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the All Tasks tab. You can perform the following operations to view batch task groups: Log on to the Cloud Migration Hub console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the Batch Task Group tab.

View migration tasks

You can use the search bar to search for migration tasks. Fuzzy match is supported.

Start and stop migration tasks

You can select multiple migration tasks that are created by using Data Transmission Service (DTS) to batch start or stop the tasks. If no DTS instance is purchased for a task, a dialog box appears. You can select the required instance type from the drop-down list in the dialog box to automatically purchase and start a DTS instance.

Block migration tasks

You can block unnecessary migration tasks that interfere with the status of resources. After the tasks are blocked, they still appear in the task list, but the status of resources is no longer affected.

Delete migration tasks

You can delete unnecessary migration tasks. After the tasks are deleted, they no longer appear in the task list.

Add migration tasks to a throttling scheduling group

You can add DTS migration tasks to an existing scheduling group. This way, Cloud Migration Hub dynamically adjusts the transmission rate of the tasks based on the configurations of the scheduling group.

Batch create tasks

To create multiple DTS migration tasks at a time, log on to the Cloud Migration Hub console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the Batch Task Group tab. Then, find a task group and click Details in the Actions column. On the page that appears, click Batch create tasks.

Note

Make sure that your source database can be connected to the destination database and the CIDR blocks of DTS servers are added to the security settings of the source database. For more information, see Add the CIDR blocks of DTS servers.

In the Migration mapping list step of the Batch create tasks panel, add migration configurations.

You can click Add migration configuration to specify the configurations. You can also click the Download Template icon in the upper-right corner to download the configuration template, configure parameters in the template, and then click the Upload migration configuration icon in the upper-right corner to upload the configuration template.

After you click Add migration configuration in the upper-left corner of the panel, configure the parameters in the Add migration configuration dialog box and click Submit. For more information about the parameters, see Parameters for batch assistant.

Define table mappings

After you add migration configurations, click Object definitions in the Operation column to define table mappings. For more information, see Objects of DTS tasks.

You can use one of the following methods to define table mappings:

1. In the Batch Configuration Template sheet of the configuration template, define table mappings.

2. In the Table Mapping Template sheet of the configuration template, define table mappings.

Note

You can define table mappings in the Batch Configuration Template or Table Mapping Template sheet. If you define table mappings in both sheets, the settings on the Table Mapping Template sheet are used.

3. Click Download Excel Template to download the table mapping template. Open the template. Find a parameter, click the upper-right corner of the cell to view the description of the parameter, and then configure the parameter based on the description. Next, upload the template. The defined table mappings are automatically added to the Table Mapping Definition Information section.

4. Click Edit to manually define table mappings.

Important

Make sure that table mappings are provided for all migration configurations. Otherwise, you cannot proceed to the next step.

Add migration configurations by using a template

After you click the Download Template icon in the upper-right corner of the panel, configure the parameters in the EXCEL template that is downloaded. After you configure the parameters, click the Upload migration configuration icon in the upper-right corner to upload the template. Cloud Migration Hub automatically loads the migration configurations that you specify in the template.

To specify migration configurations in the Batch Configuration Template sheet of the template, you can find a parameter, click the upper-right corner of the cell to view the description of the parameter, and then configure the parameter based on the description. You can also switch to the Table Mapping Template sheet to configure parameters.

Modify or delete migration configurations

After you add migration configurations, you can click Edit in the Operation column to modify the configurations.

If you want to delete migration configurations, you can select the configurations and click Batch delete.

After you confirm the added migration configurations, click Next.

Create DTS migration tasks

In the Create DTS step of the Batch create tasks panel, configure DTS migration tasks as prompted. For more information, see Parameters for batch assistant. Click Submission. Then, you can add multiple DTS migration tasks on the details page.

To add multiple DTS migration tasks at a time, log on to the Cloud Migration Hub console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Migration Capability > Task Management. On the page that appears, click the Batch Task Group tab. Then, find a task group and click Details in the Actions column. On the page that appears, click Bulk Add/Edit Tasks.

In the Bulk Add/Edit Tasks panel, select forward DTS migration tasks in the Task List section based on your business requirements.image

After you select the tasks, click OK.

Batch create reverse DTS migration tasks

On the details page, you can view a list of forward DTS migration tasks.

Batch stop forward DTS migration tasks

Before you can enable and configure reverse DTS migration tasks during migration, you must stop forward DTS migration tasks. Cloud Migration Hub allows you to start, pause, or stop multiple forward DTS migration tasks at a time.image

You can manage forward DTS migration tasks based on your business requirements.

Batch configure reverse DTS migration tasks

Select the forward DTS migration tasks that you want to manage and click Batch create reverse tasks.

In the Batch create reverse tasks panel, you can view the configuration information of the selected tasks. You can modify the information based on your business requirements. Then, click OK.image

Batch start reverse DTS migration tasks

After reverse DTS migration tasks are created, you can perform a precheck on the tasks, or batch stop or start the tasks.image
