Calls the DeleteTransitRouter operation to delete an Enterprise Edition transit router instance.
Operation description
DeleteTransitRouter is an asynchronous operation. After you send a request, the system returns a RequestId but the transit router instance is not immediately deleted. The deletion task runs in the background. You can call ListTransitRouters to query the status of the transit router instance.
If the transit router instance is in the Deleting state, the transit router instance is being deleted. In this state, you can only query the transit router instance but cannot perform other operations on it.
If the transit router instance cannot be found, the transit router instance is deleted.
Before you begin
Before you delete a transit router instance, make sure that the following conditions are met:
- No connections exist on the transit router instance.
To delete a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) connection, see DeleteTransitRouterVpcAttachment.
To delete an Express Connect Router (ECR) connection, see DeleteTransitRouterEcrAttachment.
To delete a Cloud Connect Network (CCN) connection, see DetachCenChildInstance.
To delete a VPN connection, see DeleteTransitRouterVpnAttachment.
To delete an inter-region connection, see DeleteTransitRouterPeerAttachment.
To delete a Virtual Border Router (VBR) connection, see DeleteTransitRouterVbrAttachment.
No custom route tables exist on the transit router instance. For more information, see DeleteTransitRouterRouteTable.
- No custom route entries, route prefixes, or aggregate routes exist in the default route table of the transit router instance. For more information, see:

To disassociate a prefix list, see DeleteTransitRouterPrefixListAssociation.
To delete an aggregate route, see DeleteTransitRouteTableAggregation.
No multicast domains exist on the transit router instance. To delete a multicast domain, see DeleteTransitRouterMulticastDomain.
No traffic marking policies exist on the transit router instance. To delete a traffic marking policy, see DeleteTrafficMarkingPolicy.
