This topic describes the line types and pricing for Internet data transfers in Cloud Data Transfer (CDT). It also provides billing examples and compares CDT prices with those of other Alibaba Cloud services.
Line types
CDT supports two line types for Internet data transfers: BGP (Multi-ISP) and BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro. The following table describes their advantages and supported services.
Line type | Advantage | Supported Products |
BGP (Multi-ISP) | BGP (Multi-ISP) lines are premium Internet lines that cover multiple global regions. They connect to multiple carrier networks and automatically select the optimal path to ensure fast and stable access. Supported carriers include China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Mobile Tietong, China Netcom, China Education and Research Network (CERNET), National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), Dr.Peng Group, and Founder Broadband. |
|
BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro | BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines optimize international traffic to the Chinese mainland and improve access quality for global services. Compared with standard BGP (Multi-ISP) lines, BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro lines provide lower latency for end users in the Chinese mainland (excluding data centers in the Chinese mainland) using direct premium carrier connections to the Chinese mainland. |

CDT Internet data transfer pricing
CDT uses a cumulative tiered billing model for Internet data transfers across multiple services and regions. Data transfers are divided into multiple tiers, each with a different unit price. To calculate the total cost, multiply the usage within each tier by its unit price and sum the results.
Pricing for BGP (Multi-ISP) Internet data transfers
Effective June 1, 2025, at 00:00:00 (UTC+8), the free quota for CDT Internet traffic will be increased from 200 GB/month to 220 GB/month, of which 20 GB/month can be used in the Chinese mainland, and 200 GB/month can be used in regions outside the Chinese mainland.
The first 220 GB of Internet data transfers per month is free. This includes 20 GB for regions in the Chinese mainland and 200 GB for regions outside the Chinese mainland. Usage beyond this free quota is billed from the first GB based on CDT's tiered pricing model.
Usage notes for General-purpose data transfer plans: Only the first tier (0 to 10 TB) of CDT can be offset by a General-purpose data transfer plan. General-purpose data transfer plans can be used to offset traffic generated by pay-by-data-transfer ECS, EIP, and CLB, and pay-by-data-transfer Internet Shared Bandwidth, but cannot be used to offset Internet traffic generated by Function Compute (FC).
The actual prices on your bill prevail.

Only BGP (Multi-ISP) Internet data transfers include a free quota. BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro transfers do not have a free quota.
BGP (Multi-ISP) Pro traffic cannot be offset by general-purpose data transfer plans or CDT resource plans.
