When you switch metering methods, the new method takes effect only after the current billing cycle ends, so bills for the current cycle still reflect the previous method.
The effective time depends on your current metering method:
| Current metering method | Billing basis | Effective time of new method |
|---|---|---|
| pay-by-data-transfer | Daily | 00:00 (UTC+8) on the next day |
| pay-by-peak-bandwidth | Daily | 00:00 (UTC+8) on the next day |
| pay-by-95th-percentile-bandwidth | Monthly | 00:00 (UTC+8) on the first day of the next month |
For details about switching metering methods, see Change the metering method.
If the new method has taken effect but bills still show the previous method, the cause is likely bill processing time. It takes 3 to 4 hours for the system to issue bills, so bills issued within 3 to 4 hours after you change the metering method are still calculated based on the previous method.
