Add multiple origin servers to a CDN domain to enable automatic failover when the primary server fails health checks, or to distribute traffic across servers of equal priority using round-robin.
Procedure
Log in to the CDN console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Domain Names.
On the Domain Names page, click Add Domain Name.
-
In the Origin Info section, click Add Origin Info. For Origin Info, select IP or Site Domain. Repeat to add multiple origin servers.
NoteOrigin fetch policy: By default, CDN sends all origin fetch traffic to primary origin servers. If a primary server fails three consecutive active health checks, CDN redirects all traffic to secondary origin servers. When the failed server passes an active health check, CDN marks it as available and restores its original priority. If all origin servers share the same priority, CDN uses round-robin for origin fetches.
Active health checks: CDN performs active Layer 4 health checks on all origin servers every 5 seconds.
After you complete the configuration, CDN fetches content from your origin servers based on the policy you set. Make sure the content on each origin server is identical — otherwise, CDN may retrieve and deliver inconsistent content to users.
