This topic describes how to apply for a public endpoint for an ApsaraDB for HBase Performance-enhanced Edition cluster. ApsaraDB for HBase Performance-enhanced Edition clusters can be connected over virtual private clouds (VPCs) and the Internet. To connect an ApsaraDB for HBase Performance-enhanced Edition cluster over the Internet, you must apply for a public endpoint for the cluster.

Background information

Network type Description
VPC
  • By default, ApsaraDB for HBase provides internal endpoints for clusters.
  • Connections over VPCs provide higher security than connections over the Internet.
Internet
  • You need to manually apply for public endpoints for ApsaraDB for HBase Performance-enhanced Edition clusters.
  • We recommend that you use Internet connections only for debugging or testing and do not use them to manage your workloads in the production environment. If you connect to an ApsaraDB for HBase Performance-enhanced Edition cluster over the Internet, service performance cannot be ensured. Internet connections may compromise service performance due to network latency and limited bandwidth.
