Overview
You can add a canonical name (CNAME) record for a domain name to point the domain name to the CNAME provided by a content delivery network (CDN) vendor. This accelerates website access.
Prerequisites
To activate the CDN service, you must point the domain name that you want to accelerate to the CNAME provided by your CDN vendor. This way, requests to the accelerated domain name can be forwarded to CDN nodes. To obtain the CNAME, contact your CDN vendor.
The following section describes how to obtain the CNAME in the Alibaba Cloud CDN console.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud CDN console, and click Domain Names in the left-side navigation pane.
Copy the CNAME of the domain name that you want to accelerate.
Add a CNAME record
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DNS console.
On the Domain Name Resolution page, click the Authoritative Domain Names tab, and click the domain name that you want to accelerate. The DNS Settings page appears.
Click Add DNS Record and configure the CNAME record. Set the Record Value parameter to the CNAME that is provided by the CDN vendor.
After you add the CNAME record in the Alibaba Cloud DNS console, the CNAME record takes effect immediately and the CDN service is also activated. For more information about how to check whether the CNAME record takes effect, see Check whether the DNS records take effect.
