This topic describes what you need to prepare before migration.

Precautions

If the account that hosts a network-attached storage (NAS) file system is different from the account that hosts an Object Storage Service (OSS) bucket, log on to the Data Transport console with the account that hosts the NAS file system to create an NAS data address.

Network-attached storage (NAS)

  • Apsara File Storage NAS
  • Third-party NAS services
    • You need to add a server that hosts an NAS file system to a VPC.
      • To allow access to an NAS file system from all IP addresses in the VPC, you can connect the server to the VPC by using a dedicated circuit. For more information, contact Alibaba Cloud Technical Support.
      • To allow access to an NAS file system from all IP addresses in the VPC, you can also connect the NAS file system to the VPC over a VPN network.
    • If access to an NAS file system is restricted, you must allow access to the NAS file system from all IP addresses in the VPC where the NAS file system resides.

Create a destination OSS bucket

To store migrated data, you can create a destination OSS bucket. For more information, see Create a bucket.

Create and authorize a RAM user

  1. Log on to the RAM console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Identities > Users > Create User.
  3. On the Create User page, select Console Password Logon and Programmatic Access, and then enter the required RAM user information.
  4. Save the generated account, password, AccessKey ID, and AccessKey secret.
  5. Find the RAM user, and click Add Permissions in the Actions column. Grant the read and write permissions on OSS (AliyunOSSFullAccess) and the management permissions on Data Online Transport (AliyunMGWFullAccess) to the RAM user.
  6. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Overview > RAM user logon. On the RAM User Logon page, log on to the official website of Alibaba Cloud as a RAM user.
