Before you can use Tracing Analysis, you must activate the service. Tracing Analysis runs based on Log Service and Resource Access Management (RAM). Therefore, you must also activate these two services and grant Tracing Analysis the permissions to read data from and write data to Log Service. This topic describes how to activate the services and grant permissions.
Prerequisites
An Alibaba Cloud account is created and has passed real-name verification.
Activate Managed Service for OpenTelemetry
Go to the product page of Managed Service for OpenTelemetry. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Log In.
On the page that appears, enter the username and password of your Alibaba Cloud account and click Sign in.
On the product page, click Activate Now. On the buy page of Managed Service for OpenTelemetry, select Managed Service for OpenTelemetry Terms of Service and click Activate Now.
ImportantYou are not charged for activating Managed Service for OpenTelemetry. You are charged for the data that you report to Managed Service for OpenTelemetry.
Activate Log Service
To activate Log Service by using your Alibaba Cloud account, perform the following steps:
Go to the product page of Log Service. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Log In.
On the page that appears, enter the username and password of your Alibaba Cloud account and click Sign in.
On the product page, click Activate Now. On the page that appears, click Enable Service.
On the Log Service page, select Log Service Terms of Service and click Activate Now.
Activate Resource Access Management (RAM)
Go to the product page of RAM. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Log In.
On the page that appears, enter the username and password of your Alibaba Cloud account and click Sign in.
On the product page, click Console. Then, click Verify Now on the Thank you for using RAM page.
Complete real-name verification as prompted.
Grant Managed Service for OpenTelemetry the permissions to read data from and write data to Log Service
Log on to the Managed Service for OpenTelemetry console.
On the page that appears, click Authorize to grant Managed Service for OpenTelemetry the permissions to read data from and write data to Log Service.
In the message that appears, click OK.
