All search and analytics results can be rendered by using visualized charts.

Prerequisites

Indexes are configured and corresponding analytics switches are turned on. To do this, click Index Attributes. On the page that appears, turn on the Enable Analytics switch. For more information, see Enable and configure the index feature for a Logstore.

Note
  • Before using charts to display query results, read Real-time analysis.
  • You cannot use charts to display query results if you do not include an analytics statement in your search and analytics statement.

Precautions

When multiple search and analytics statements are running in sequence, the Value Column, X Axis, or Y Axis information cannot automatically change based on the current running search and analytics statement. The X and Y axis information may remain to be that of the last search and analytics statement. This makes the query results of the current search and analytics statement unable to be automatically displayed in a chart. Configure items on the Properties tab based on the current search and analytics statement if the following messages are returned:
  • The currently selected dimensions are not in the queried results. Check and configure the attributes.
  • X-Axis or Y-Axis is not available. Check and configure the attributes.

Chart configurations

On the Graph tab, various charts are provided to display query results. You can select a type of chart from the chart bar to display results.

  • On the Graph tab, you can view the Chart Preview and Data Preview of query results of the current search and analytics statement. Chart Preview is the preview of the query results displayed in the specified chart type. Data Preview displays the query results in a table.
  • On the Graph tab on the right, you can configure multiple chart properties, including:
    • Data Source: used to set placeholder variables. If the drill-down event of a chart is to redirect to the dashboard where this chart is located and the placeholder variable that you configure for this chart is the same as the variable you click to trigger the drill-down event, the latter one is replaced with the former one. Then the search and analytics statement of this chart is executed. For more information, see Configure drill-down analysis for a chart of a Logstore.

This feature is applicable to scenarios where you configure drill-down events to redirect to targeted dashboards.

    • Properties: used to configure the display properties of a chart, including the X axis, left and right Y axes, margins, font size and other properties. The properties vary with different types of charts.

This feature is applicable to all search and analytics scenarios.

    • Interactive Behavior: used to configure drill-down events for a chart. After you configure a drill-down event for the chart, you can click the variable value in the chart to run the specified the drill-down event. For more information, see Configure drill-down analysis for a chart of a Logstore.

This feature is applicable to triggering drill-down events for charts.
