:Refresh database schema metadata

Last Updated:Nov 22, 2018

After you have logged on to a database instance through the DMS console, DMS loads metadata describing the database schema in real time, such as schema names, table names, columns, and indexes.

  • If you perform DDL operations through the DMS console,
    • all changes are displayed in the console in real time. You can select the operations that you want to perform from the left-side menu bar.
  • If you perform DDL operations through other platforms, for example, creating a database or change table structure through the RDS console or other terminals,
    • you need to log off and log back on again to retrieve the latest metadata in the DMS console. Otherwise, these changes are not displayed in the console and you cannot perform any operations on the modified database objects.
