WUYING Terminal:Terms

This topic describes the terms that are commonly used in WUYING cloud services. With the terms in mind, you can better use the services.

Definition

Cloud services and resources

WUYING Workspace

WUYING Workspace provides a computer service that is secure, efficient, and easy to use in the cloud. You can use WUYING Workspace to quickly create and manage cloud computers and build a secure and flexible office system.

cloud computer

A virtual computer to which you can connect by using a WUYING client.

resource

Fundamental physical resources that are used for WUYING cloud services. Resources consist of computing resources and storage resources.

resource type

The type of resources provided by WUYING Workspace cloud services. For example, one of the cloud computer types in WUYING Workspace is Enterprise Office – 2 vCPUs, 4 GiB memory.

office network (formerly workspace)

An office network is a collection of cloud computer configurations, including the division of the secure office network, user account system, and Internet access.

Users

administrator

A user who performs O&M on WUYING cloud services. Administrators can manage the resources, assets, and policies of WUYING cloud services.

end user

A user who uses WUYING cloud services. End users can use the following types of accounts to connect to WUYING cloud services: convenience accounts and enterprise Active Directory (AD) accounts.

convenience account

An account dedicated to WUYING cloud services. The convenience account is suitable for scenarios in which enterprise AD systems are not required.

enterprise AD account

An account that is used to connect to an enterprise AD system. AD domain controllers can be used to manage user permissions and resources in a centralized manner.

organization

A group of users who are managed in a centralized manner. Examples: enterprises, governments, and schools.

Clients and peripherals

client

A channel that is used by end users to access WUYING cloud services. WUYING clients fall into software clients and hardware clients.

peripheral

A physical input and output device that is connected to clients. Examples: keyboards, mouses, and printers.

redirection

A method that is used to directly connect an on-premises service or device to a cloud computer.

Data and management

snapshot

A point-in-time backup file of a cloud disk that is used to back up or restore the cloud disk.

image

A file that contains a series of files organized by following specific formats. Images can be used to quickly copy files. In WUYING Workspace, an image includes an operating system, pre-installed software, and data.

policy

A set of rules that control entities in WUYING cloud services and the relationships between the entities. The rules involve security, user experience, and session management.

Billing

billing method

The method in which customers are charged for using Alibaba Cloud services. Billing methods fall into subscription and pay-as-you-go.

subscription

Customers are charged for Alibaba Cloud services before they use the services.

pay-as-you-go

Customers are charged for Alibaba Cloud services after they use the services.

payment method

The method in which customers make payments. Examples: Alipay, online banking, and cash.
